- Keynote Address by Gerard Kleisterlee, President
& CEO, Royal Philips Electronics at “The ASEAN Symposium on Access
to Healthcare” at Kuala Lumpur (3 Sept 2007). “Philips’
collaboration with Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore, has already resulted
in the successful development of technologies that put patients first
and lower care giver workloads. The partnership promotes innovation by
bringing Temasek students together with Philips consultants at Philips
InnoHub in Singapore and Philips Medical Systems facility in the United
States.”
- Our Team - JBlaster has won 2nd place in the National Infocomm Competition on 3 Nov 2007, jointly organized by IDA, NTU andIBM. Our supporters have also won the Best school spirit prize.

Infocomm Competency Unit (IFCCU)
1. IFC student projects showcased in Asian Biometric Conference & Exhibition

IFC
students participated in Biometrics Standards Conformance Testing held
in conjunction with the Asian Biometric Conference & Exhibition at
Suntec City from 25 – 27 Sep 2007. This is an International conference
with delegates from China, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, Korea, Indonesia
and Singapore. The students have developed two test suites to check
biometric data (in particular, fingerprint and face images) generated
by vendors to see if it conforms to the ISO standards.
2. XMPP IM Server (produced by IFC students)
The
instant messaging server allows a set of streaming XML protocols and
technologies of any two entities on the Internet to exchange messages,
presence status, and other structured information. An administrative
application was built together with the server so as to allow
administrators to monitor the user’s activities.This instant messaging
server is highly recommended for companies that wish to prevent
confidential information being leaked out to external parties.

4. VirtualXgame Competition
TP
ENG team- JBlaster has won 2nd place in the competition on Sat
(3/11/2007) jointly organized by IDA, NTU and IBM. The competition took
place in Nanyang Executive Centre from 9.00am-5.30pm. This is one of
the National Infocomm Competition (NIC) organized by IDA. Each team
needs to produce Java code during the competition, running through 4
rounds each in 3 tournaments. Our supporters have also won the Best
school spirit prize.
